About Myself…

Hi, my name is Ai.

I studied Electronics and Computer Engineering as a student and picked up The Specialist Diploma in Nutrition and Exercise Science with Singapore Polytechnic as an adult.

E.Excel has been my full-time career for the past 15 years and adding on to the plate is eLead Global for the last 5 years. Both E.Excel and eLead Global are by the same Founder – Dr. Jau-Fei Chen.

Before E.Excel, I had a 9-to-5 job for about eight years. I had also tried my hands at traditional business before venturing into E.Excel Network Marketing. After consuming the products for a few months and gaining an understanding on the Business Structure, I have to say that I never look back again!

Sharing is my passion, and being able to share and inspire, helping and enrich another’s person life, while gaining self-fulfillment is what I find an ideal career!

I am very thankful to have been introduced to Nutritional Immunology products and be able to partner with renowned Scientist in a reliable, successful and well-established company. All my hard work is rewarded, and now I have more time for my family, friends, and volunteering to return back to society.

I am also a vegetarian and I love going to different places to try different vegetarian foods with friends. I am not born vegetarian, but it is definitely one of the best decisions I have made, other than choosing this career (E.Excel/eLead).

I hope I can update this blog as often as I can, and hope the information that I have shared will be of use to you. Occasionally, I will share interesting vegetarian foods I have come across too. Good things are to be shared!

The last two months were crazy… with the rise of Omicron cases, I had to do several urgent deliveries of NI products. But the rewarding part was, my friends recovered quickly and did not really suffer from long-covid or lingering after-covid symptoms like cough, and fatigue. Now the pandemic here seems to be cooling down, I can find more time to update my blog too. You may also drop me a chat for inquiries. Cheers!

Power nutrients – Phytochemicals, Antioxidants and Polysaccharides

When I knew E.excel in 2003, the vital nutrients for our immune system: phytochemicals, antioxidants and polysaccharides were often mentioned in Dr Chen’s talks.  Back then, I tried to search the meaning from the Internet, but other than antioxidants being explained, search for phytochemicals and polysaccharides proved futile!

The closest answer the search engine gave was phytonutrients for phytochemicals.  The only places where I could find more information on them were in E.Excel Excellent Magazines, Dr Chen’s books and, during her talks.

Today, if you do a search on phytochemicals, you can now start to see sites such as breast cancer.org and sciencedirect.com, discussing the benefits of phytochemicals.

Harvard Health Publishing also recently (February, 2019) published their research on the roles of phytochemicals for our immune system. (https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/fill-up-on-phytochemicals).  This is almost 15 years after Dr Chen’s education on the great benefits of phytochemicals!

This, is how advanced Nutritional Immunology is!  How blessed E.Excelers are, to always have the first-hand scientifically proven information.  And just when every retailers ride on the current wave of promoting probiotics, E.Excel discouraged the long term consumption of it.

E.Excel is a research company with a Science, not just a manufacturer that follows trend blindly, for the benefit of sales and, at the expense of consumers’ health.

How about polysaccharides?  What information is there currently on the Internet?  Well, you will realize that there is still not much information discussed on its role on our immune system! ?

In my course of Nutrition and Exercise Science_Part 5: Are you a regular exerciser?

My new semester on Exercise Science has started in July, and I am currently swarmed with lab reports, assignments and coming exams in a month’s time.  Having said that, Exercise Science is really a very interesting course!  A none regular exerciser like myself had never thought that there is still a Science, behind Exercise.  How ignorant I was.

After attending this course, I understand the definition of Exercise; it has to be a planned, a regulated, a structured, repetitive and purposeful event (preferably with goals).

And to be called a regular exerciser, one has to meet the criteria of exercising at least 30mins a day at moderate-intensityat least 3 times in a week, for the past 3 months.  (As defined by ACSM guidelines).

AFTER having understood this, I bought a heart rate monitoring device to monitor my exercise intensity, increases my exercise frequency and duration, progressively.  Having done this for at least the last three months, I am happy to declare myself as a REGULAR exerciser now! ?.  I shall continue to challenge my abilities and meet my goals.

After all, Nutritional Immunology advocates the importance of exercise too!

Vegecolor & Freeze Drying

An ingenious product that has 28 different vegetables in a serving!  So convenient..just add the powder in your food or stir it as a drink!!

The following shows the ingredients in one sachet.

I attempted tang yuan using Vegecolor and they are nice! I mixed the vegecolor with the flour, formed the dough and boiled them. It’s not too difficult. I didn’t take any photos of the process. The following was what I captured when it was done by another independent distributor. The tang yuan can be added as toppings over red bean soup.

You can be as creative as you want with Vegecolor, especially when your little ones are picky with vegetables. Add them to your recipes!

Over your dishes
Bake with your muffins
Bake with your bread
Over porridge
With rice in sushi and as toppings

Note: The consumption of different colors of vegetables are important as they contain different types of phytochemicals.  Phytochemicals found in plants possess anticancer capabilities.  Each type of phytochemical can block one of the processes that leads to cancer.

Many people have the impression that all health supplements contain preservatives.  They are not totally wrong.  Majority of the retail health supplements do contain preservatives, as indicated on their bottles/boxes.  It is rare to find preservatives-free supplements.

Nutritional Immunology products are without preservatives and additives. How is that so?

The company uses – Freeze-drying technique to eliminate the use of preservatives. Not only preservatives are not needed, freeze-drying allows the freshness of a harvest to be conserved.

Freeze-drying is not a new technology and has been around for decades.  One may do an Internet search to understand how this technique works.  Rare to find a health supplement manufacturer using this technology. After all, it is a time-consuming and expensive process.

Some extracts from wikipedia
“The primary purpose of freeze drying within the food industry to extend the shelf-life of the food while maintaining the quality.  Freeze-drying is known to result in the highest quality of foods amongst all drying techniques because structural integrity is maintained along with preservation of flavors.  Because freeze drying is expensive, it is used mainly with high-value products.  Examples of high-value freeze-dried products are seasonal fruits and vegetables because of their limited availability…”

“Shelf-life extension is a result from low processing temperatures in conjunction with rapid transition of water through sublimation. With these processing conditions, deterioration reactions, including nonenzymatic browning, enzymatic browning, and protein denaturation, are minimized. When the product is successfully dried, packaged properly, and placed in ideal storage conditions the foods have a shelf life of greater than 12 months.”
